• Schouder- en elleboogchirurgie (prothesiologie, revisie chirurgie, instabiliteit, posttraumatische afwijkingen, rotator cuff, AC-gewricht)
• Ontwerp en biomechanica van prothesiologie van schouder en elleboog
• Ontwikkeling van nieuwe chirurgische technieken in schouder- en elleboogchirurgie

• 1984-1990: Gymnasium-diploma behaald aan het Gymnasium Haganum te Den Haag.
• 1990-1991: studie Scheikunde, Rijksuniversiteit Leiden.
• 1991-1998: studie Geneeskunde, Rijksuniversiteit Leiden.
• 2003-2004: vooropleiding Heelkunde, Maasstad Ziekenhuis Rotterdam (locatie Clara Ziekenhuis)
• 2004-2008: opleiding Orthopedie, UMC Utrecht en Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis Amsterdam. Hierbij stage pols- en handchirurgie bij dr. Schuurman, plastisch chirurg UMC Utrecht.
