Dr. Thomas Patt is werkzaam bij Bergman Clinics in Nederland en is gespecialiseerd in arthroscopische kniechirurgie. Zijn werk wordt in heel Europa erkend en hij werkt samen met toonaangevende instellingen om veiliger sporten te bevorderen.
Sinds 2010 richt Dr. Patt zich, naast zijn klinische werkzaamheden, op het voorkomen van knieblessures bij kinderen en volwassenen. Hij is president van het sportgedeelte ESMA (European Sports Medicine Associates) bij de grootste wetenschappelijk orthopedische vereniging van Europa ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy) en leidt de werkgroep Guardians of the ACL, een preventiewerkgroep binnen de ACL Study Group. Daarnaast ontwikkelde hij samen met Dr. Henrique Jones (Portugal) het ESSKA-programma Prevention for All. Ook is hij voorzitter van de ACL-certificeringsmodule van ESSKA.
Dr. Patt heeft bijgedragen aan vele publicaties, waaronder peer-reviewed artikelen, boekhoofdstukken, richtlijnen en consensusdocumenten, met een focus op preventie van ACL-letsels, behandeltechnieken en revalidatie.
Zijn werk en onderzoek hebben brede erkenning gekregen vanwege de impact op de pediatrische sportgeneeskunde en de orthopedische praktijk.
